Welcome to my first normal blog post for 2023.
As you may have noticed I’ve been doing my 52 Week Project which have their own posts but I have had some leftover images I’ve been meaning to post. This post is pretty much me playing catch up on all of those.
Some Christmas Images
Below are some images I took during the Christmas period but as I was relaxing, I never really got around to editing or posting them.
Pretty much every single image was taken with a different camera/lens combo so it’s easier if I just add captions to each which you can see below.
One common trend you’ll notice throughout all of these images is that I’ve been using the A7IV a lot more. It’s such a fun camera to use which I feel I’m nowhere near using to its full potential.
I’m sure that once I get to travel with it then I’ll have a ton of great images to show for it. In the meantime, I’m trying to use this camera as much as possible so I can get the best images possible when I go to Japan!
Yearly Celebrations
With all other yearly celebrations, it’s currently Chinese New Year which means dinners and other celebrations.
As it’s just family dinners, I don’t take too many images and just enjoy the moment but here are some that I did take.
As you can see all of these were with the 35GM which I’m still really loving. SAR has reported that Sony are getting ready to release a 50mm f/1.4 GM along with a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DN Art not far on the horizon.
I have become fond of the 50mm focal length so this will be really tempting but if I was to get one, it would mean I’d likely need to get rid of the Fuji to justify having the 50mm lens.
Also funny fact, if you see the plate of Roast Pork on the table, I ate more than 75% of that myself…
Touch the Sky
Below is an image I took on NYE between the fireworks displays.
This is the type of image I bought my FE 16-35mm as it was taken at 16mm, making full use of the wide end of this lens. There is a really nice look to this wide FOV but I definitely prefer it when closer to the subject like in this.
When I travel I plan to use the FE 35GM for majority of my walking around, then when I go to certain locations such as Disneyland or a place I plan to do Cityscapes then I’ll grab out the zoom. Probably during night when I go for a walk is when I’ll be making the most of the 85mm Art.
That brings this post to and end and if you’d like to be notified of future updates, please subscribe using the form below.
