The Final Lineup [16/52]
When putting together a camera kit there’s a lot of different ways you can go.
Some people prefer zooms while others prefer primes but for me, I like a mix of both. I find in the mid range from around 24mm to 100mm you can easily shoot with primes and ‘zoom with your feet’. When it comes to shooting really wide or long, then that’s where zooms really come in handy.
In saying that, above you can see my final lineup which has the following:
- Sony Alpha a7IV
- Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G
- Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM
- Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DN Art
- Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD
I got good coverage from 16mm to 200mm with only a few gaps. I could add a 50mm but I personally don’t think it’s needed. There is also the option to get rid of my 85mm and replace it with a 135mm prime but I do find the former more versatile so I likely won’t make that change.
For this image, it was taken with the Fujifilm X-S10 + XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR. This is why I like having a second body of another brand, makes taking photos like this much easier.

Looking very nice! So, finally settled with your line-up? It’s always nice to have a decent second body for shots like these! To me, it’s Olympus PEN + 17mm and 45mm primes that do the job. 😀
Thank you, featured image doesn’t show in the Jetpack app for some reason though 😅 yes second body of another brand is very useful here! It’s good you have two for your PEN, would you ever add another?
Yeah, your post always doesn’t show the featured image in the app, so I opened in the browser. 😅 Another one I’m interested is 75mm (f/1.8), but maybe too long (150mm in FF).
Not sure why that’s happening, it used to work so need to try figure it out as it doesn’t show in the emails too 😓 yes that would be a bit too long since it’s 2x but if it was only 1.5 it could be great!
