Recently my Logitech G604 mouse had started to show signs of being on its last legs so I decided it was time to look into getting something new.
In comes the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro. It was a tough choice of which mouse to get as I’ve always used Logitech but I decided to give something new a try. You can see the mouse below.
To me every photographer should have a more gaming orientated mouse or at least productivity focused ones like the Logitech MX Master 3s. If you aren’t aware, you can assign custom functions to all the additional buttons. You can also create profiles so the additional buttons on the mouse can have different functions based on the program you have open.
My side buttons are programmed to quickly swap between brush and zoom, then my scroll wheel can create a new layer and export to web depending which side I click. I can also change the DPI (sensitivity) on the fly to make it easier to do changes that require precision.
In terms of gear, this was taken with my a7C II and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DN Art / Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DN Macro. Taking these photos really showed how important it is to have a telephoto that’s capable of taking close photos like a macro.
I had stopped taking photos of new items I buy but this was a good reminder why I need to do it more.
