In April I went for a short trip to Melbourne which was only about 4 days but since we had been there before this was more than enough. Like usual the weather didn’t quite agree with me so I never found the right opportunity to shoot cityscapes based on our schedule but I did get some images I’m happy with.
To try something different I didn’t bring my 35GM along with me on this trip and instead took the Viltrox 50mm f/2 Air, Sony FE 16-35mm f/4 G PZ and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DN Art. Honestly I didn’t really have any issues using the 50mm over my usual 35mm but when it comes to the actualy lens quality, it still can’t beat my GM.
Below you can see all the images I took on the trip itself.
In terms of Melbourne, I definitely felt it had changed since I last went there in 2024. It seemed a lot more dangerous now with a lot of drug addicts all over the city area. Aside from that, not much had changed that I noticed but I’m not sure if I could live in Melbourne. Food wise I still have plenty of options with all the pizza, bratwurst and similar food so I’d be fine in that regard and housing is cheaper, but no matter what Melbourne just isn’t as enjoyable as Sydney for me.
That brings this post to an end, I hope you enjoyed the images and I’ll be back with more images soon.
