More Love for the Fuji

More Love for the Fuji

It hasn’t been too long since my last post but since the images are already piling up, I thought I’d release something new!

New and Exciting

Being that the Fuji is my new toy, its been getting the majority of my attention. I’m working towards that full review but in the mean time here’s some more images taken with camera (aside from the first one which is with the Canon R6 and 85mm f/2 IS).

I’m really happy with this camera so far and although it’s not perfect, it’s really fun to use and image quality is seriously good.

Sadly there was some eBay sales so I gave in and ordered a Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN lens to accompany my 23mm! I’ll be very curious at how well the Sigma performs on Fuji but I’m predicting that I’ll really love it.

I’m sure I’ll have some images to share with it in the coming weeks.

The Hard Lesson

Over the long weekend I managed to get out of the house and finally try a Cityscape with my Fuji X-S10. I had quite a good time but learnt a tough lesson.

Despite not having a proper sized filter adapter I wanted to do a long exposure so I setup my tripod then started shooting. After a quick review on the back of the camera I was really happy with everything so head home.

Once I got a chance to review the images I noticed a consistent issue with all the longer exposures, they all had a slight blur to them. Only then it dawned on me that I had forgot to disable IBIS.

With my R6 and previous A7III, disabling IBIS wasn’t required when on a tripod but after doing some research online, it is required with Fuji bodies. I did my best with some editing and still managed to salvage the image you see below.

It’s an important lesson that I’ve learnt and I’ll be sure to disable IBIS the next time I try long exposures on a tripod. Now when that will be, your guess is good as mine!

The cityscape shot looks sharp enough in this post! Would love to see whether it’ll be noticeably better with IBIS turned off next time. Getting more interested in Fuji now. 😅

Thanks and I was hoping to try again today but my foot is still playing up and weather wasn’t good 😅 I can’t blame you, I’m really loving Fuji and feel like it could be my main camera!
