Yesterday was Valentine’s Day which means like many out there, I bought some flowers for my significant others.
Considering this would probably be the most eventful thing of my week I figured it would make a great entry. For shots like this I really appreciate the 85mm focal length. I’ve struggled with the minimum focusing distance of this lens (85cm) after using the Canon RF 85mm f/2 IS which could focus as close as 35cm.
Regardless, this subject is quite large, so the MFD didn’t really effect it hence why I loved it for this image. Looking at what this lens can do and what locations I’ll be visiting in Japan, I think the 85mm focal length suits what I need most.
I am looking at actually getting the Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD lens quite soon, either during my vacation or after. I have wanted a 4th lens to add to my kit and wanted a tele lens but wasn’t sure which one to get.
The Tamron 70-180mm has a MFD of 27cm which means it will be great for product photography and also excel at landscapes or travel. It seems like the most all round option compared to getting a dedicated macro lens like the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DN.
Once I get the lens I’ll be sure to share some impressions but that may not be for some time. That brings this post to and end and if you’d like to be notified of future updates, please subscribe using the form below.
