Last week I purchased the Sony Alpha a7C II!
We had a really good sale which was essentially 20% off the price so it was too good to resist. If my cashback requests goes through too then I’ll be getting the camera for even cheaper as well.
I’ll share some impressions of it so far but below are some photos of my new baby taken with the Sony Alpha a7IV and 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro Art lens.
I’m really liking this camera and I honestly can’t really find any shortcomings of it so far. I expected the EVF to be worse than it is, but I think it’s actually quite good maybe because I’m too used to APSC EVF’s so this one doesn’t seem that bad in comparison.
The AF certainly does feel better than the a7IV and I even find it to be that good I’d actually consider selling it to get a second a7C II. I probably won’t though and will stick with my current plan of keeping it until the a7V comes out.
Images With the Sony Alpha a7C II
Below are a few images I’ve taken with this body and all images are with the Sigma 50mm f/2 DN except for the very last one which is with the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DN Macro.
I haven’t done anything with the camera that’s really AF intensive but it does feel like an upgrade over the a7IV in a lot of ways. One thing I can really notice the difference on is IBIS, this body is rated at 7 stops compared to 5 in the a7IV and I did notice I could hand hold more like I did on the Canon EOS R6, but maybe not quite as good.
Something Older
Below are some other images I still haven’t got around to posting, all are taken with the Sony Alpha a7IV and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DN Art.
That’s it for this post, I hope you enjoyed the images and as always if you’d like to be notified of future posts please subscribe using the form below.
