Close the Rings [9/52]
Like many I wear a Smart Watch daily. I also like to close all my ‘rings’ each and every day. Ever since getting my first Apple Watch many years ago I found myself doing as much each day to try and make sure I could hit my move, stand and exercise goals. When it comes to the watch itself, it is really tying me to the iPhone. I’d love to…

Unproductive Times
Welcome to the first update for May 2020. To say it’s been an unproductive time would be an understatement. As you can probably tell by the amount of photos in this post, I haven’t been shooting much. The image below I took on evening when I went to get some takeaway for dinner. Although we usually try and eat at home as much as we can to save money, it’s…

All About Still Life
Welcome to my first fortnightly update for April 2020. Smaller Celebrations Despite still not being allowed outside,I have been shooting a bit more. As you can tell by the featured image at the top of the page, we had some birthday celebrations over the past fortnight. Prior to this whole pandemic, we were actually meant to be in Japan over Easter. If our plans had gone through, I would have…

Make It Float
I am a bit late to the party but here is my fortnightly update on what I’ve been up to. Now with everything that is going on in the world, I haven’t been shooting much. Here in Sydney we are in a stage 3 lock down due to COVID 19. What this means is we are only meant to leave the house for essential requirements like attending work, exercising and…

My First Update for 2020
Here is my first update for 2020. I was originally planning on uploading these earlier but my holiday to Auckland and redesigning of TPE took up more time than I planned. This is a combination of images I took over the holiday period. Some are of my new lens which I have reviewed here. I also got a new light stick which is the light saber looking item several photos…

Been Having A Break
So recently with uni and work I’ve been a bit strapped for time. I know I used to do posts on each photo but I think I’ll keep this format for at least the next few weeks until my exams are done. Below are a bunch of different images from different days and events over the past few weeks. Enjoy!

A New Style of Product Photography
Over the past week I’ve been trying to decide (and still deciding) if I should sell my M5. It’s not that I don’t like it, I just don’t use it enough and the money could go to a drone or new monitor which I really want. I watched this really great tutorial on removing backgrounds in Photoshop and wanted to try this with my product photography. I decided to use a…

My Newest Obsession
I’m very pleased to say my Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 has finally arrived 🎉 I have had very limited use with the lens so far but from my limited use, I’m very impressed. It’s a tiny bit bigger than my Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 which is a crop lens! I tried taking a few images of my girlfriend using Eye AF and not only was the AF fast and quiet,…

Sony WF-1000XM3
Here are the recently released Sony WF-1000XM3. I couldn’t resist but get myself a pair and so far I’m glad I did. I’m surprised to say the audio quality of these can easily match my Bose QC35II’s. They’re just a few days old so this may change over time, but i doubt it.

Living Life Still
Recently I have been getting back into still life photography. I have been lazy to leave the house and also sick so shooting at home was the easiest solution. In the first episode of my podcast, I mentioned that origami is something I really enjoy but am bad at. I was thinking about this and decided, why settle for being bad at it when I can try to improve? The…
