  • In The Clouds

I finally went out shooting and even more strange, I used my 17-40! Today I went shooting with a Flickr friend since we both wanted to try some long exposures with our 10 stop ND filters. We got to the location about an hour before sunset just to be safe so we did a lot of standing around and talking. This shot was actually taken after sunset when I was…

  • Week 7 – Taxi Stand

I always find myself arriving early to meet ups which I did on Saturday night. I went for a short walk and there was something about this small street that just seemed very appealing to me. Maybe it’s the fact there’s nature in the foreground with man made structures in the back, or maybe it just makes a nice evening scene.

  • Next Stop Perth

I have driven past this view many times in the past few weeks and had always wanted to take a shot from this bridge and finally did last weekend.

  • There Will Always Be Bumps Along The Way

While taking another photo (which will be uploaded tomorrow), I thought this would make an interesting image so decided to capture it. I stupidly rested my arm on the rail to further stabilize myself which worked against me due to the shake each time a car crossed the bridge. • Empty Streets

Last week I mentioned I took my 17-40 for a walk and here is another image I was happy with. I previously said I’ve tried to stay away from using the clarity slider in LR5 but after experimenting, I have gone back to using it and I believe I have found a good balance. This image was taken at: 17mm f8 ISO 100 1/200

  • The Jucist

This shot was actually 2 shots bracketed into one. I wanted to create a framing for ‘The Juicist’ stand and this is pretty much what I seen through my eyes. I could have pulled the shadows but it was real easy to bracket it and this way makes for a cleaner image so I gave it a try. .

  • Week 9 – Finding Its Owner

While walking to the station to catch my train home, I took my camera out to see what I could find. I went to take a photo of this bike by itself when this lady was looking around for something, while standing next to the bike which made it look like she was trying to find its owner.

    West End View [Take Two]

A view of the Perth CBD from Parliament House. No ND filter was used for the above image one since it was already very dark by this time, although for the below image my 10 stop B+w was used.
