The Big Oversight
I thought I’d start this post off with something that was a massive oversight from myself and has led to a waste of the past 2 months. Now as I’ve mentioned in previous posts and my podcast, we’ve been in lockdown for roughly 2 months now. Because of this I haven’t been going out to take photos at all. I did find it strange as when I was out for…
My First Trip to Auckland
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to visit Auckland for the first time. This trip was mainly to attend a good friends wedding, although we stayed a few extra days to explore. I have several friends that live there and one had described Auckland as being like Perth. I have to admit that in the Uber ride to our hotel, it did seem really quite despite being a…
Out of Isolation
If you can’t tell by the lack of posts over the past month, its been a busy time for me. It was mostly assignments at uni taking up all my time which is not fun. Now that all this has subsided for a while, it’s back to shooting. As I usually do, I’ve bunched a whole lot of different images into one super post for your convenience. Let’s get started…
Very recently a new area opened here in Sydney. This area is Darling Square which can be seen in the featured image at the top of the page. The spiral type building is actually houses a library, food hall and other things. I have to say I really like the design of it. I had walked past the previous night during the opening but didn’t have my camera with me.…
Sydney Light Trails
The above image was a photo I made for a tutorial over at The Photography Enthusiast. It is made of 7 individual photos merged using the lighten blend mode in Photoshop. If you want more insight into how I made the image, you can watch my video above.
Mrs Macquaries Point
Have you ever been to a location to try something new, then leave feeling like the shots didn’t work out? That’s how I felt after taking the above image. I wanted to try a HDR panorama in Lightroom which is a feature I’ve never tried. Above you’ll see the original merged image before cropping. It is comprised of 18 images, 3 exposures each frame. Due to the nature of a…
Walking into the Weekend
We had a 4 day long weekend here in Sydney and it was quite eventful. These photos are from Friday night and all taken in Barangaroo, right near my office. We had dinner right after work and since I had my M5 with me, I went for a quick walk to take some shots.
This was a post that was meant to be released several months ago now but got lost in my drafts. It was taken when I went to shoot the sunrise of Barangaroo. The reason for the title “Sights Set” was at that point, I had just got a new job at the middle tower Barangaroo. This is what gave me the reason for the title. I’m happy to say I’ve…
This week I just got back from my trip to San Francisco and Hawaii. This was the first time I’ve visited the United States so it was an interesting experience. Out of the two locations I visited, San Francisco was my favorite. The weather was colder than I was used to but I brought the right clothes so it wasn’t a problem. I visited many locations and Battery Spencer was…
Last week I went down to Circular Quay to do some long exposures. I told myself that no matter what the weather, I would drag myself out. My luck turned out to be great and I got some great clouds for sunset. The featured image up top was a 76 second exposure and I used my Haida ND filter. I actually did one exposure for the sky then another for…
